In our Instagram Stories last week, we asked our audience to choose which direction we looked toward for our next Virtual Travel Guide. They chose north! So, in this week's guide, we digitally explored the arts communities of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota. It's a fun challenge to look for art in different cities, especially since we try to explore places that fly a little under the radar as far as art destinations go. Of course, we know that almost any destination can be an art destination, and hopefully these guides can prove our point.

For the past few years, the Dallas Art Fair has been one of our favorite local art adventures. Like so many other things, it's been postponed until the fall, but organizers have built a digital version that's live now through April 23. We've posted some of our favorite discoveries and galleries that we're looking forward to seeing in person in a few months!

Online Art Adventures:

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is creating and posting art assignments designed for students and creatives of all ages to do from home.

Build your own museum in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

Explore your passion for 90s fashion with San Antonio's The McNay, which virtually exhibits Fashion Nirvana: Runway to Everyday.

Take a virtual tour of Washington, D.C.'s The Phillips Collection with Joy of Museums!

Tulsa's Gilcrease Museum offers printable coloring pages based on works in its collection.

...And when you're done coloring, you can mail your page to your new kitty penpal at Philbrook Museum of Art!

Gallery Digital Spotlight:

Gallery Orange is a contemporary art gallery in New Orleans, LA. Its mission is to deliver "unique, distinctive artwork for fair market values," and it exhibits work by established, mid-career and emerging artists. Here are some amazing pieces from a selection of the artwork it offers. Click the images for more info, and please contact the gallery directly if you're interested in making a purchase.
